The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) Qualifications are a globally recognised standard for professional accountancy and consultancy professionals.
ACCA Applied Skills is one of three levels (alongside ACCA Applied Knowledge and ACCA Strategic Professional) that will put you on the path to becoming a senior accountancy professional.

ACCA Applied Skills modules and exams
Each module has a mandatory, computer-based exam which lasts for three hours each (except the Corporate and Business Law exam, which is two hours long).
Exams for each module, excluding LW, are held four times a year - in March, June, September and December. The Corporate and Business Law exam is on demand. All exams must be booked directly with ACCA.
All six exams must be passed to complete this level and move onto the ACCA Strategic Professional certification to complete your full ACCA qualification.
Entry requirements
In order to study for the ACCA Applied Skills exams you must have one of the following prerequisites:
- Completed the ACCA Applied Knowledge exams or;
- Achieved the ACCA Diploma in Accounting and Business (RQF Level 4) or;
- Have a relevant accounting or finance qualification at degree level.

Study materials for ACCA Applied Skills
Kaplan Learning have developed a comprehensive set of study materials to help you get the most out of your course, however you’re learning with us. Live Online learners will receive printed and online study materials. OnDemand learners will receive digital materials.

Live Online learners will receive physical copies of their study materials, while OnDemand learners will receive digital versions of the materials (with the option to buy physical copies from our bookshop). The delivery fee for all of your study materials is RM60, and delivery is between 3 and 5 working days (subject to availability).

Our courses all have regular testing and examinations baked in, so when it gets to your final exams, you feel confident, prepared, and ready to perform at your best.

- Consolidation test: Test your progress halfway through the course with this 50-point assessment. Computer-marked for instant feedback, it identifies your strengths and weaknesses for targeted revision.
- Progress tests: Get an early progress check with this exam-style test. Mirroring the real format, it's computer-marked (Sections A & B**) with some human marking (except Corporate and Business Law) to give you bespoke individual feedback.
- Mock exam: Simulate the final exam experience with mock exams mirroring the real ACCA Applied Skills exam format. Get computer-marked feedback (Sections A & B**) with some human marking (except Corporate and Business Law) to analyse your performance and improve.
- Pre-exam workshop (Live Online learners only): Boost your exam confidence with a pre-exam workshop led by expert tutors. These tailored sessions cover essential exam techniques like presentation, time management, and using the CBE software. Additionally, benefit from question debriefs with marked feedback, targeted practice for common weak areas, extra tuition on tricky topics, and the opportunity to discuss questions with your tutor and peers.

Live Online

Exams and sittings
Timings and working towards a sitting
You must pass all six mandatory exams to complete this level. All exams are computer based (CBE) and assess all areas of the syllabus.
All the subjects, except Corporate and Business Law (LW), are assessed by 3 hour session computer based exams in March, June, September and December sittings. LW is a two hour exam, and the English and Global variants are assessed as an on demand Computer Based Exam. CBEs must be booked directly with the ACCA.

How long does it take to pass?
Most students complete this level within 12 -18 months, however this varies and will depend on how quickly you want to complete the course. Applied Skills exams are to be taken at specific times - the exam timetable can be found on the ACCA Global website launch.

Please note that due to varying interpretations of the post-Brexit EU/UK trading agreement, some EU countries are imposing import duty on the value of the goods received from the UK. It is payable by the end consumer via the delivery company and your delivery may be withheld until paid. Knowledge checks
As you go along, knowledge checks help assess your understanding of a topic before you move onto the next one.
Mock exam
Practice your exam technique with a mock exam, which replicates the format of the final exam, so you can check your progress. The mock exam is computer marked (Section A and B*) and part human marked (with the exception of the Corporate and Business Law (LW) subject) with feedback provided directly to you so you can understand the answer and improve your own.

Consolidation test
This is a short assessment designed to be attempted mid way through the course, of approximately 50 marks designed to show where your knowledge strengths and weaknesses are. It’s computer marked for instant feedback.
Progress test
This is an exam that closely reflects the real exam format to give you an early indication of your progress. It’s computer marked (Section A and B*) and part human marked (except for Corporate and Business Law (LW)) to provide individual student feedback.

Revision Question Debriefs and Walkthroughs
Videos that walk you through an answer to an exam-standard question highlighting the correct approach to the question and how you could score marks.
Pre-exam workshop
Available from September 2023, our pre-exam workshop offers the opportunity for focussed guidance from expert tutors to get you exam ready. The workshops will be tailored to those learners who attend to make sure everyone gets the most benefit from the session, but will include:
- the essentials of exam technique such as presentation, time management, and CBE software
- question debriefs and marked feedback
- suggestions of additional questions to attempt based on common weak areas
- additional tuition on tricky topic areas
- the opportunity to discuss any final questions with your tutor and peers.
For a live online course your answers are submitted in advance of the session. You get valuable exam style question practice at a crucial point in your study journey.
Test yourself
Available for some subjects*, choose multi-choice questions from the relevant topics and create your own mock exam to test areas of the syllabus you want to focus on. This is computer marked for immediate feedback.
