About ACCA Applied Knowledge
The ACCA Applied Knowledge course is the first of three modules making up a full ACCA Qualification. When the Applied Knowledge course is completed, learners will move onto the ACCA Applied Skills course, and then to the ACCA Strategic Professional course.
Entry requirements
ACCA Applied Knowledge is the first level of the ACCA qualification, so it is the appropriate level for most people starting their journey to becoming a qualified consultant or accountant.
Entry requirements for ACCA Applied Knowledge can be found on the ACCA website. For learners in Malaysia, the following paths are sufficient for registration on ACCA Applied Knowledge courses:
- 2 principal passes at STPM (grade C or above), plus 3 credits at SPM (grade C or above or grades 1-6) (in 5 separate subjects, including English/Bahasa Inggeris and Mathematics/Principles of Accounting/Prinsip Perakaunan).
- Matriculation Certificate (Matrikulasi) with a minimum CGPA of 2.50, including Mathematics and English.
- ATAR of at least 70 plus 5 credits (grade C or above) SPM (in five separate subjects including English/Bahasa Inggeris and Mathematics/Principles of Accounting/Prinsip Perakaunan).
- Unified Examination Certificate (UEC) with 5 subjects at grade B or above (including English and Maths).
- 2 passes at GCE A Level / Higher School Certificate [grades A-E] plus 3 passes at GCE O Level / Higher School Certificate [grades A- C/9-4] (in five separate subjects including Mathematics and English).
If you're AAT qualified, you'll be exempt from ACCA Applied Knowledge, and will start your ACCA journey at the next level, ACCA Applied Skills.

ACCA Applied Knowledge exams
You must pass all three mandatory exams to complete this level, and your exams must be booked directly with ACCA. There are no specific sittings for these exams so they can be sat at any point during the year.
These modules can be sat in any order, and when you've completed all three, you can move onto the next ACCA level - ACCA Applied Skills.

OnDemand learners receive all of their study materials online, but can buy physical copies on our bookshop. Live Online learners will receive physical copies of all study materials - delivery costs RM60 and most learners will receive their materials within 3-5 days.

ACCA Applied Knowledge testing
Throughout the course, you’ll undergo a range of different assessments designed to assess your knowledge and keep you on track.
- Knowledge checks: Regular topic testing to assess your knowledge of each topic in the syllabus.
- Consolidation test: A short, 50-mark assessment that is computer-marked for individual feedback. This is a short assessment of approximately 50 marks. Computer marked with feedback provided directly to you
- Mock exams and progress tests: Aligned with the format of the final exam, mocks and progress tests are computer-marked with online feedback to help you learn from your answers.
- Exam preparation tests: Covering all areas of the syllabus.
- Practice tests x 3: Scored across the syllabus and based on exam-style questions, practice tests can help you highlight your strengths and weaknesses to plan for the exam.

You must pass all three mandatory exams to complete this level. All exams are computer based (CBE) and assess all areas of the syllabus. CBEs must be booked directly with the ACCA.

How long does it take to pass?
Most students complete this level within 6 to 12 months, however this varies and will depend on how quickly you want to complete the course. Applied Knowledge exams are on demand computer-based exams, which means that they can be sat at any point in the year as there are no specific exam sittings.
Study materials and delivery costs
Live Online and OnDemand learners will receive printed and online study materials. OnDemand learners will receive digital materials but are able to purchase hard copy materials from our bookshop.

Delivery costs
How much it costs to deliver your study materials and how long it takes depends on where in the world you live.
Delivery fees are as follows:

Rest of Asia/America - $47
All other countries - 40EUR
Please note that due to varying interpretations of the post-Brexit EU/UK trading agreement, some EU countries are imposing import duty on the value of the goods received from the UK. It is payable by the end consumer via the delivery company and your delivery may be withheld until paid. This may vary from country to country and be up to a value of 20% of the value of the study material.

Knowledge checks
As you go along, knowledge checks help assess your understanding of a topic before you move onto the next one.
Mock exam
Practice your exam technique with a mock exam, which replicates the format of the final exam, so you can check your progress. Mocks are computer marked and correct answers can be viewed online so you can learn from your answers. We provide you with model answers so you can learn and look to improve your own answer.
Exam preparation tests
This includes a minimum of 2 questions per syllabus area.
Consolidation test
This is a short assessment of approximately 50 marks. Computer marked with feedback provided directly to you.
Progress test
This is a mock exam that closely reflects the real exam format. Computer marked with immediate access to review and learn from your answers.
Practice tests x 3
Once you complete the exam-style questions, you’ll receive a score showing how you have performed across the syllabus. This will highlight your strengths and weaknesses, and help you to plan your revision before the real exam.
