Kaplan Learning: the heart of accounting in Asia

22 Jul 2024

At Kaplan, we work to provide education for everyone. To do this, we have been attending several exciting events to provide our expertise and support for current and prospective accountants who want to know more about the industry.

Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA), Kuala Lumpur

We attended the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) Conference of 2024, which followed the theme of ‘navigating new frontiers, embracing sustainability.’

The conference hosted 3,8000 delegates in person and virtually, around 80 sought-after speakers and over 80 sponsors and partners - including corporate organisations, accounting firms, government departments and agencies, global accounting bodies, as well as AFA, CAPA, and IFAC.

During our attendance, we received many inquiries relating to both our Live Online study methods and the ICAEW Data Analytics Certificate programme.

Our Live Online study method is available for the ACCA, CIMA, and AAT qualifications. This method provides the structure of a classroom with live, scheduled lectures, but with the independence to study from the comfort of your home.

ACCA APAC Dialogue, Hanoi

We were one of the sponsors for the ACCA APAC Conference, which was held in Hanoi from 28th to 29th May 2024.

The theme for the conference was ‘Giao,’ which is an exploration of the interconnected threads that bind Asia Pacific’s diverse cultures, industries, and aspirations. The theme drew inspiration from Giao Lĩnh - a Vietnamese traditional costume, admired for its iconic interconnected sleeves - which is a fitting symbol of unity, collaboration, and shared growth.

Over the two days, we explored several topics, including regional cooperation, trade dynamics, human capital development, public-private sector synergies, and the evolving landscape of finance and accounting education.

We proudly presented the second cohort of our Accountants General Department (AGD)’s ICAEW Data Certificate presentation ceremony.

ICAEW Data Analytics Certificate

We have collaborated with industry giants, ICAEW, to develop a highly practical ICAEW Data Analytics Certificate programme. The programme helps finance professionals take advantage of the opportunities they have to harness data to support decision-making. In an ever-evolving world of data and technology, the programme has never been more relevant.

People networking

The Kuala Lumpur event saw ten graduates receive the Management Pathway certificate, and seven graduates receive the Analyst Pathway certificate from the Accountant General, Mdm Nor Yati Ahmad. IPNCPD, the AGD’s training arm, has included the programme as part of their offered courses for their team to utilise yearly.
