Nurul Husna binti Assanah studied ACCA OnDemand with Kaplan and is currently working with the National Accounting Institute within the Accountant General Department of Malaysia. We wanted to find out a little more about Nurul’s learning experience, and how she found studying OnDemand.
Hi Nurul. What made you choose ACCA OnDemand?
The flexibility of the study - I can study wherever and whenever I want it.
Do you think ACCA OnDemand is good value for money?
Yes. It is very affordable. It covers an abundance of materials from videos to notes, and also it can help you from the tuition phase up to the revision phase.
What are the best features on OnDemand?
The thing I value most from OnDemand is the video and how it is structured - very short and very precise. I can always rewind and replay whatever area I’m not too sure of. It is also a motivation factor for me to always spend another 5 minutes watching another topic. I think that is very important.
Can you sum up your study experience?
Overall, it is very structured. I know where I am at, at that particular point, where I’m heading and how many more topics do I need to study and it’s very easy to navigate. The support is there and also, there are mock exams which I value most!
Would you recommend this study method to other students?
Definitely! Especially for working adults and those with families. There is the flexibility and also the affordability. And you can get almost anything from the platform itself.
How would you rate the quality of the subjects covered?
Very good! I took OnDemand for Advance Financial Management. I’m able to understand what the subject matter is all about, what the examiner wants and how to approach the subject.
All the subjects are available in ACCA OnDemand. Do you find this feature helpful to your studies?
Yes definitely! Especially for the exempted subjects that I am given - the prerequisite subjects I’m able to look back at the materials and videos to understand the subject and concept. And even to do practice.
Do you feel you missed out by not attending a “traditional” classroom?
I really like my Kaplan experience. The videos are there, the materials are in abundance, support is there and also the marked mock exams. Yeah.. I really like it!
What are your top tips for studying with ACCA OnDemand?
For those studying with Kaplan, just follow the program. It’s all laid out for you, and try to log in wherever and whenever you have time, even though it is only for a few minutes, definitely you will gain something.
How supportive is your employer towards your study method?
My employer is very supportive of this study method as it gives me more knowledge and I’m able to improve my passing grade.
How would you sum up your entire Kaplan experience?
The thing about Kaplan is they tailor the experience to the Malaysian students! They have this very affordable plan - monthly and also quarterly which you can try first before embarking on a whole journey with Kaplan. Definitely give it a try!
